If we have a blank, we will do our best to recreate it for you!
The Owego location can duplicate some newer vehicle keys, as long as our key manual clearly states that the make and model of your vehicles key does not contain a transponder.
Transponder Keys™ are vehicle keys that contain a microchip built into the key to basically ‘talk to’ your car-telling it (and allowing it) to start. Each key is specifically programmed to operate with only your vehicle.
The majority of car models made after 1995 contain a Transponder-more commonly known as a “chip.” Believe it or not, your vehicles security system will lock you out of your vehicle if you use a key without a transponder in the ignition.
The Endicott location offers a more extensive key duplication service for models that do contain Transponders™ using a newer key machine. (At a fraction of the cost of the Dealership!)
